Marco Phillip Massai è nato a Columbus, Mississippi, nel 1983. Dopo gli studi in medicina si dedica alla scrittura, pubblicando racconti sul Giallo Mondadori (“Datteri, seta e polvere nera” – maggio 2012; “L’Imbrattatele di Pietrasanta” – aprile 2013; “Il diavolo e la zanzara” – febbraio 2014), su riviste specializzate (Robot, Writer’s Magazine Italia) e in antologie Delos Books (serie “365 racconti”… e “Il magazzino dei mondi”). Finalista e vincitore in diversi concorsi di narrativa breve (Premio Algernon Blackwood 2011, Premio GialloLuna Mondadori 2013), scrive testi teatrali e collabora con alcuni dei più importanti concorsi italiani per racconti gialli. Per Bus Stop ha già pubblicato il racconto “La maschera di Pietrasanta”, nella collana History Crime.

Il miglior manuale in italiano
Ho letto molti manuali sull’argomento. Questo mi sembra il migliore disponibile in lingua Italiana.
Sicuramente utile per chi scrive, interessante per chi legge
Una breve guida, non troppo lunga da risultare noiosa, non troppo breve da omettere i principi fondamentali, abbastanza precisa da fare qualche esempio concreto. L’ho preso come fosse un richiamo per un vaccino, quello che mi dovrebbe impedire di diventare noioso 😉 Non so se l’effetto sarà raggiunto, i concetti contenuti nel libro li conoscevo già bene, ma di certo mi ha fatto bene rinfrescarli ed essere più consapevole di quello che stavo facendo e del perché lo facevo.Ho preso anche il secondo volume della serie, già arrivata se non erro al numero dieci. Non è male, penso che chi decide di scrivere, per hobby, passione o mestiere, possa spendere qualche euro e qualche ora per confrontarsi con un altro autore e vedere se ha qualche cosa di buono da dire.In questo caso quindi libro consigliato essenzialmente a chi scrive, ma divertente da leggere secondo me anche a chi ama leggere, per capire meglio come viene costruito quello che sta leggendo.
Breve, ma intenso
Questo libro è breve, ma, come ho scritto nel titolo lo reputo intenso, perché è dettagliato quanto basta senza cadere nell’esagerazione di molti altri manuali letti in passato. Belli gli esercizi, dove viene spiegato il meccanismo del titolo e le differenze tra mostrare e raccontare.
Quasi inutile
Cercavo un libro per approfondire l’argomento,anche con esempi concreti,ma nonostante all’inizio mi sia parso buono,dopo averlo finito mi sono accorta di essere più confusa di prima. La differenza tra mostrare,descrivere,raccontare e narrare mi ha fatto più confusione che altro,per non parlare degli “esercizi”:inutili.Tra l’altro spesso mi sono trovata in disaccordo sul fatto che la versione “mostrata” degli esempi fosse migliore di quella “narrata”.Secondo me se sono dettagli o battute di dialogo poco importanti ai fini della storia,perché usare parole in più?In sostanza penso si possa trovare di meglio.Ho trovato articoli più chiari in internet.L’ unico lato positivo di questo è il prezzo contenuto.Lo consiglierei solo a chi non ha mai letto niente sull’argomento
Un buon manuale
Il primo manuale di una serie che si prospetta molto interessante. I concetti vengono spiegati in maniera chiara, soprattutto per chi non conosce la tecnica o magari, come me, non l’aveva approfondita. Gli esercizi finali sono utili per iniziare a essere più professionali nel narrare.Se anche nello scrivere questa recensione sto pensando a esprimermi secondo le indicazioni appena studiate, significa che ha fatto centro!

Peccato per qualche refuso, ma il libro è interessante e ci aiuta a capire la differenza tra raccontare e mostrare. Consigliato.
