‘One of the best fake date romances I have come across’ ★★★★★ reader review
Can a fake date fix everything?
On a day Abbey thought would be the best of her life – her boyfriend is surely going to propose tonight, right? – it all falls apart: he tells her he’s met someone else. And then to make things worse, she loses her job.
In an act of reimagination, she splurges her wedding savings on renting an apartment in a building she’s always dreamed of living in and kits out her wardrobe to match.
But when her family invites her ex – a close family friend – plus a date(!!) to her parents’ vow renewal, Abbey realizes her façade won’t be enough. There’s nothing for it but to fake one more thing – a romance. And she knows exactly who to ask… her hot new neighbor…
A laugh-out-loud fake-dating rom com, with a chemistry you’ll be thinking about long after turning the last page. Perfect for fans of The Hating Game and Elena Armas

not for me
Fake It âtil You Make Itâ was an easy read even it became a bit tedious for me after a while.Abbey and Ted, recently broken up with their respective partners due to cheating, form a fake relationship to keep face in front of Abbeyâs family. They also both lie to one another about who they really are – Abbey pretends to be an actress and Ted pretends heâs his brother Mike, an professional baseball player. This causes all kinds of problems and misunderstandings and drama. It was a big annoyance to me, since the misudnerstanding trope is definitely not my favourite. Abbey and Ted kept going on like this until the very end. They kept telling themselves that was the day they were going to come clean, and they always changed their mind at the very last minute. It became boring pretty soon. Both of the characters personalities seems to rely on their breakpups and there wasn’t much else to them. The srotyline feels forced, the revelation – which was not brought on by any of the main characters – came from someone else. Segue the shortest epilogue I’ve ever seen when the characters reconcile expressing their love for one another, but still, the fact that they lied to each other was discussed at all.
I really love Ted and Abby history, well its too sad about the past realtionship but life every has a best person if you learn
So sweet, giddy, and heart warming. Typical romance that takes you through all the emotions! Love love love it! Perfect- expected ending.
I absolutely loved reading this story with Abbey and Ted their characters were great. With both making fake stories about themselves and then everything just spiralling like it does I couldnât put it down and I wish it would have lasted longer and that there had been an epilogue, but still a brilliant read.
The kind of book that reminds you of how gut nerving, exciting love is.. Best rom com I’ve read in a while
I wasnât sure about this book when I first started reading as it was a bit slow and I wasnât used to the authorâs style. Once I got into it, and the characters and story unfolded, I couldnât put it down. The story was full of tropes like mistaken identity, fake dating, falling in love based on lies, etc. I liked both POV to help develop characters. You find yourself rooting for this couple. It was very pleasantly surprising!
