This series is hilarious and cute and fun read.
I found these books a few years ago when I was teaching 8th grade. One of my students was reading Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging and I nearly took it away, afraid it was inappropriate. I am now totally sucked in and think I probably enjoy these books more than my students. Just finished Love is a Many Trousered Thing and I have to say that I can’t wait to read more. I hope Louise keeps writing forever, because not only are they hilarious, they are just fab, gut fun.
Good
I ordered these for my niece then read them first. What a great series. Totally entertained me, and I didn’t have to think my way through the story.
Georgia Nicolson, our fabbity-fab friend and true sufferer in luuuuuurve, is back in this eighth installment of the series by Louise Rennison. Since the last book (Startled by His Furry Shorts) left us on a major cliffhanger, this one was most eagerly anticipated, and it did resolve the main issue of Masimo and Robbie. But, oh, the other turns Georgia’s life takes!Set during the last two weeks of term, Georgia finds herself in the delicious scenario of having to choose between Italian Stallion Masimo and Sex God Robbie. You might think this is a good thing, being sought after by two such gorgy porgy guys, but as per usual, things do not go smoothly for Georgia as she feasts on the mucho handsome guys while hanging out with the ace gang, fighting with Mutti and Vati, chasing after Angus and Gordy, keeping Libby out of the airing closet, and hiding from the Baldy-gram uncle. And is there really a choice, since both potential boyfriends seem to not be taking any initiative? Mix in an end of term camping expedition, a few disco infernos, and a bubblegum disco dance and you’ve Georgia’s usual hilarious musings. And just when you think things are going to calm down, who shows up? Dave the Laugh! Is there anyone else besides me who wants Georgia to realize he’s the one for her? This is a good installment, but not my favorite in the series. While there are still plenty of laugh out loud moments, and I particularly love how Georgia vows not to do something and two minutes later, there she is doing it, I do wish we’d move along a bit in the story and I’m beginning to wonder why Jas is even a member of the Ace Gang. Fun, fast reading, but poor Georgia is still left on the rack of pain. Still, it’s typical Georgia, and that’s never a bad thing. Enjoy!
