Where HONEYBEE’s Renée and Flo first become friends.
I just can’t imagine me without you …
It’s the mid-1990s, and fifteen year-old Guernsey schoolgirls, Renée and Flo, are not really meant to be friends. Thoughtful, introspective and studious Flo couldn’t be more different to ambitious, extroverted and sexually curious Renée. But Renée and Flo are united by loneliness and their dysfunctional families, and an intense bond is formed.
Although there are obstacles to their friendship (namely Flo’s jealous ex-best friend and Renée’s growing infatuation with Flo’s brother), fifteen is an age where anything can happen, where life stretches out before you, and when every betrayal feels like the end of the world. For Renée and Flo it is the time of their lives.
With graphic content and some scenes of a sexual nature, PAPER AEROPLANES is a gritty, poignant, often laugh-out-loud funny and powerful novel. It is an unforgettable snapshot of small-town adolescence and the heart-stopping power of female friendship.

Bello
Adatto x le ragazzine che si possono identificare nei problemi che le due principali protagoniste affrontano . Piaciuto anche a me che come mamma si rende conto che crescere non e’ un gioco.
This is my 3rd Dawn O book and I LOVED it. Iâm in my 50âs so wasnât sure it would keep my interest but it just got me nostalgic and brought back memories of my own teenage years (albeit those were in the 80âs!).Solid characters, well written, Dawns books are a joy to read.
Dawn O Porter’s writing is joyous! She takes you on a journey which tugs on your own memories & heartbreak. Wonderful to read!
As a high school teacher I wasn’t sure how much I would enjoy this, after all I teach teenage girls everyday. However, this book was a real page turner. I have always believed that every child carries a story with them that makes them unique, that makes them behave (or not) in certain ways. This story is about that and more. The friendship formed in secret and the desperate need to fit it is all too real. Shame that the real problems encountered in the book are not what kids have today. The cyber world has made growing up all the more stressful. It takes absolute courage to do this. I wish all children the courage shown by both the girls here … Flo and Renee are wonderful characters.
I was so sad to finish this book! Really enjoyed reading about the friendship that develops between the two main characters and would recommend.
I loved the flow of this story. Life as a teenage girl can be so turbulent as insecurities manifest themselves in so many ways. I rushed to the end to find out how the characters end up.
