I bought this for my book-loving husband, along with some other bookish gifts! He has already read a bunch of the books listed, and is super excited to keep scratching titles off! I paired it with a magnetic poster hanger/frame so he can display it and still have access to scratch off the books as he goes.
Iâm a big reader and a colleague and I decided to read several of the books on the chart this year. Fun idea. There are several of these charts and lists out there. Each have some books in common and some different ones. I think I could have bought several books and just kept a list rather than buy the chart. Perhaps the audience for this younger readers as some type of incentive.
I was dumb enough to buy this twice. The first one I scratched off some titles and the whole thing tore. I thought “Oops, my bad. I’ll know to be more gentle next time.” Nope. Either the scratch off covering stays put or it takes the whole image with it. Do not buy this.
This poster is a nice size (smaller than most other Top 100 out there) and has a nice list of books. Unfortunately, scratching off takes part of the image every time. I’ve tried pennies, guitar picks, fingernailâthe silver covering does not want to come off easily.
I love the idea of this, but the tiles are extremely difficult to scratch off in a manner that preserves the underlying poster. Kind of a bummer to go scratch off a book only to rip into the poster.
