Das Gerät ist nun sein ein paar Tagen an einem MacBook Pro im Einsatz. Macht einen soliden Eindruck und tut das was es soll. Ich verwende zwei 4K Monitore zusätzlich, leider nur einer mit 60Hz, der andere mit 30. Gut ist – das Gerät wird kaum warm, der Anker Dockmanager funktioniert tadellos. Aktuell ist noch die FW 0.1 drauf, da wird sicher noch das ein oder andere Interessante kommen. Wenn man Geräte wie HDMI steckt – nicht die Nerven verlieren wenn es nicht gleich nach einer Sekunde klappt. Manchmal dauert die Verbindung ein paar Sekunden. Damit kann man leben. Solider Gesamteindruck und die Verarbeitungsqualität die man von Anker erwartet. Ich bin zufriden.
Anker ist alles andere als ein Neuling im Bereich Computerzubehör und hat sich mit sehr hochwertigen und langlebigen Produkten einen verdient guten Namen erworben.Diese Docking-Station mit moderner integrierte GaN-Ladetechnik und Display stellt ein weiteres mal die Innovationsfähigkeit des Herstellers unter Beweis.Zum einen haben wir es hier mit einem klassischen USB-C-Dock zu tun, das auf der Rückseite zwei HDMI-Monitoranschlüsse (am Mac nur einer sinnvoll nutzbar), einen Ethernetanschluss (leider nur 1G) und noch drei USB-A-Ports, die allerdings nur als USB 2.0 Variante (ok. Für Maus, Tastatur, etc), bietet.Interessanter sind die Anschlüsse auf der Vorderseite, zwei Reihen, die je zwei übereinander liegende USB-C Ports und jeweils einen USB-A-Port zur Verfügung stellen. Die Ports auf der rechten Seite bieten dabei den modernen USB 3.2 Ãbertragungsstandard mit bis zu 10Gbps Ãbertragungsgeschwindigkeit, während die Ports in der linken Spalte einzig und alleine mikroprozessorgesteuerte Ladeports sind, die pro Port bis zu 100W abgeben können und damit problemlos auch sehr anspruchsvolle Geräte aufladen bzw. mit Strom versorgen können. Damit ersetzt das Gerät zusätzlich auch ein externes Ladegerät für drei Verbraucher.Zu den Ports auf der Vorderseite gesellt sich ein farbiges Display, das Auskunft gibt über die abgegeben Stromleistung und den Status der Datenanschlüsse.Diese lässt sich über eine Taste oben umschalten und zeigt dann die gesamte Leitung, die an den linken Ladeports abgeben wird, an.Das ganze steckt in einem formschönen Gehäuse aus hochwertigem Kunststoff, das für eine aufrechte Position unten mit kleinen FüÃen ausgestattet ist und ein fest verbautes Netzkabel hat.Es gibt kein externes Netzteil, alles steckt komplett in diesem Gehäuse.Alles ist, wie man das von Anker kennt, von einer auÃergewöhnlich hohen Material- und Verarbeitungsqualität.Diese Docking-/Charging-Station ersetzt somit zwei Geräte, was meiner Meinung nach auch die GröÃe des Gerätes rechtfertigt, auch wenn es ingesamt etwas kleiner ginge. Ich besitze ein 160W Ladegerät eines anderen Herstellers und auch ein hochwertiges portables USB-C-Hub. Diese beiden Geräte sind kleiner, leichter und auch günstiger als das Anker-Gerät.Allerdings sieht es nicht so schick aus und natürlich fehlt auch das hübsche Display auf der Vorderseite.Bis hierhin bin ich von dieser Lösung ausserordentlich angetan, denn sie ersetzte mehrere Geräte, steht sicher auf dem Schreibtisch und sieht dabei auch noch ausgezeichnet aus.Ein paar Sachen haben allerdings noch Verbesserungspotential.Zum einen sollte heute bei einem Gerät dieser Preis- und Leistungsklasse ein 2.5G-Ethernetport Standard sein.Ebenso darf man in dieser Klasse auch ein Metallgehäuse erwarten, das nicht nur haltbarer ist sondern auch die entstehende beträchtliche Wärme besser nach aussen abführt.Die Anzeige der abgebenden Leistung an den Ladeports ist ja noch sehr sinnvoll, die Informationen zu den Datenports ist allerdings mehr als unnötig. Sie leuchtet auf, wenn ein Peripheriegerät angeschlossen ist. Das sehe ich nun allerdings auch ohne Display.Interessanter wäre hier die tatsächliche Datenleistung anzuzeigen, was natürlich recht aufwendig ist oder eben auch die abgegebene Stromleistung, denn auch an den Datenports ist das von Interesse, da natürlich auch hier Geräte aufgeladen werden können, auch wenn die Anleitung etwas anderes behauptet.Ansonsten könnte man hier nicht einmal eine externe Festplatte anschlieÃen (dazu mehr weiter unten).Ãber die abgegeben Stromleistung an diesen Ports schweigt sich der Hersteller allerdings komplett aus, was ich mehr als irritierend finde.Es sieht danach aus, dass die Leistung hier nicht einmal wenigstens die bei guten Hubs und Docks üblichen 15W erreicht. Gemessen habe ich maximal 6W, was offen gestanden, insbesondere bei einem Hub, dass eine derartige Stromquelle eingebaut hat, enttäuschend ist, denn das hat negative Folgen. Ein für mich ausserordentlich wichtiger Test ist das Messen der Datenübertragungsrate, getestet mit einer 4TB WD Black NVME in einem modernen USB4 Gehäuse, angeschlossen an einem der vorderen USB-C Ports.Diese Drive wurde zu meiner groÃen Enttäuschung nicht erkannt. Das liegt mit groÃer Wahrscheinlichkeit daran, dass an diesen Ports keine ausreichende Leistung zur Verfügung steht.Selbst sehr günstige USB-C-Hubs der neuesten Generation sind in der Lage, diese Platte problemlos anzusprechen, da sie meist zumindest den niedrigsten Power Delivery Standard erfüllen, das sind die zuvor erwähnten 15W, nur leider das nagelneue und sehr teure Anker-Gerät nicht.Eine echte Enttäuschung und 2024 in dieser Preisklasse nicht mehr akzeptabel!Das Gerät kann über eine App gesteuert werden und erlaubt minimale Einstellungen der Ladeports. Evtl. lassen sich manche meine Kritikpunkte durch ein Firmware-Update in Zukunft noch beheben, es ist allerdings anzunehmen, dass der Hauptkritikpunkt an diesem Gerät ein Hardware-Problem ist.Fassen wir es einmal zusammen, im Prinzip liegen hier zwei Geräte vor:1. Ein brauchbares modernes Ladegerät mit bis zu 160W Leistung, allerdings nur bis zum inzwischen veralteten PD3.0 Standard (max 100W an einem Port) und gerade mal 4 Ladeports (inkl. Uplink). Vergleichbare Geräte auf dem Markt haben meist fünf bis sechs ports2. Ein eher mäÃig konfiguriertes USB-C-Hub mit drei Ports im 10Gbps Standard, allerdings mit mangelhaften Leistungsreserven für gröÃere Stromverbraucher, zwei HDMI-Ports, einem veralteten 1G-Ethernet-Port und drei heutzutage wirklich nicht mehr zeitgemäÃen USB-2-PortsIm Moment kann ich aufgrund der genannten Schwächen, insbesondere der mangelhaften Leistung als USB 3.2-Hub, guten Gewissens nicht mehr als drei Sterne für dieses nicht gerade günstige Zubehörteil geben.Vielleicht wird es was bei der Version zwei dieses Gerätes und eine intelligent verteilte Ausgangsleistung wird auch auf die Datenports verteilt.Wer keine bunte Anzeige braucht bekommt bei anderen Herstellern derzeit mehr Leistung für deutlich weniger Geld.
Zuerst war ich skeptisch, ob die Anker Prime Dockingstation tatsächlich kompatibel zu iOS-Geräten ist. Aber schon der erste Test zeigte, dass die Bedenken falsch waren. Egal ob iPad 10, iPad pro 6 oder Acer Travelmate Laptop: alle Geräte geben ein einwandfreies Bild aus und werden mit hoher Leistung aufgeladen. Während der Laptop 65W konsumierte, bezogen die beiden iPads je 25 W über die USB-C Ladebuchsen. Das wird übersichtlich auf dem kleinen Display angezeigt. Für mich ist die Suche nach einer idealen Dockingstation beendet, vielleicht kommt irgendwann mal ein zweiter Bildschirm dazu. Dafür ist ja noch ein Anschluss frei…
Habe diese Dockingstation für meinen Dell Laptop geholt, sie hat ein integriertes GaN Netzteil mit ausreichend Dampf und kommt in der gewohnten Anker Qualität daher.Satten Punktabzug gibt es allerdings für die Tatsache, dass keinerlei Displayport Anschlüsse vorhanden sind – in einer solchen Preisklasse (200â¬) muss das meiner Meinung nach sein. So geht jetzt wieder das Theater mit den Adaptern los.Update: ich habe es mit etlichen HDMI Kabeln und DP-Adaptern nicht hinbekommen, meinen KVM Switch mit der Dockingstation zu verbinden. Allerdings leider fpr mich unbrauchbar .Ich wechsle zwischen einem Dell und einem Macbook Pro Notebook und dachte das Gerät wäre eine gute Idee.Leider lässt das Dock keine W2 externen Bildschirme mit meinem Mac per HDMI zu . Das allein war schon Grund für die Rücksendung. Hinzu kam das es nicht meine externen Lautsprecher von Bose unterstützte so dass der Spaà schnell vorüber war.Wurde zurückgeschickt- aber stylish war es .
