The Dark Lord is confounded when he awakens in the middle of a small town on a planet he’s never seen before. What is this strange place, why do they keep calling him Dirk Lloyd, and why is he powerless against these earthlings who insist on finding his parents? Could it be that Dirk Lloyd is really a human incarnation of the Dark Lord who, after a cataclysmic final battle with his arch nemesis, was hurled into the Pit of Uttermost Despair, aka Earth? Or is he just a lost and confused boy? The Dark Lord must regain his rightful place in the universe before his powers of domination and destruction are lost forever, and help comes from a most unlikely source . . . a human friend.
Readers will delight in this wickedly humorous tale as the Dark Lord-theIncarnation of Evil, The World Burner-finds that even he might have a good side.

And I HATED being 13. So, that means something. The narrative itself is interesting – what if an otherworldly big bad was trapped in the body of a human geek – but the voice is what’s so compelling. The angst and horror and misery – and that’s before even going to school! I loved reading this so much, I bought the paper copies of this and the sequel for my nephew. (NEED THE SEQUEL FOR KINDLE!) Excellent read.
Definitely a good buy, and a great book. My son loves it. Go for it, it’s really funny and well written.
Enjoyable read,funny,
The point of view is that of a worlds-conquering warlord — whose mind has somehow been transported into the body of a small Earth boy. It takes him a while to get any sense of what has happened, and even then he still plots to conquer the world. Despite this, the character is surprisingly likeable. It’s very funny.
Although it feels a little heavy handed at first, I ended up really enjoying this. What a fun idea for a book. Looking forward to the next installment.
