My 9 year old Grand daughter loves this poetry book. She finds it very funny (so do I), and enjoys reciting the poems, especially The Death of aFly and My Teacher. Great buy. Lots of laughs.
Content well laid out and good to read
An interesting selection ,but not as funny ,as the title would leave you to imagine.
excellent gift choice
Lots of funny and often insightful poems about the sort of things grown-ups generally don’t seem to realise kids think about. Youngsters worry, are afraid, and have dark thoughts; they’re not all about bright eyes, rosy cheeks, fun, flowers and fairies. This book takes us into all sorts of places where kids minds might wander, but grown-ups wouldn’t take them. I especially like the way the tempo of writing reflects the subject matter, like “intercity train” or “the jumping game”. There’s plenty of well-observed detail. A great addition to established nursery rhymes. It’s small format 5″ by 8″, contains 96 pages and 73 poems. Fair value at the price.
