Sixty-two days after the disappearance . . .
A man is arrested in the small town of Avechot. His shirt is covered in blood. Could this have anything to do with a missing girl called Anna Lou?
What really happened to the girl?
Detective Vogel will do anything to solve the mystery surrounding Anna Lou’s disappearance. When a media storm hits the quiet town, Vogel is sure that the suspect will be flushed out. Yet the clues are confusing, perhaps false, and following them may be a far cry from discovering the truth at the heart of a dark town.

Non il migliore ma vale la pena leggerlo.
In my opinion⦠the best are the trilogyâs Marcus but itâs worth to read itð¤©Carrisi is a very good writerð¤©Enjoy your book!
Everything about the book was great, maybe the ending could have used a little more. My only problem was I purchased it used and did not notice until later how badly damaged the book was.
Loved loved loved this book. Had seen movie but book is much more detailed. Twists and turns. NOT predictable as most stories.
The story develops well, the plot tightens. But then, at the end, there is an unfinished symphony. Very disappointing. Indeed.
This is an excellent detective novel that will keep you guessing right up until the end. It begins with the appearance of a high profile investigator found covered in blood after a road accident, yet without any injuries. He had been in the mountainous community where he was found two months earlier, investigating the disappearance of a young girl from strongly religious community. There are so many twists and turns here and a variety or perspectives from which we see the story unfold and the organisation of the material is meticulous so the plot is always clear. I certainly didn’t anticipate the final resolution which was very cleverly done. So, we have at least two mysteries – the reason for the reappearance of the investigator, and the disappearance of the girl. But more than this, we also have reflections on our attitude to crime, and on the role of the media in criminal investigations. It isn’t a long book but there is a lot going on here to make you think. I haven’t read anything by this author before, but will certainly be looking at his author books based on my enjoyment of this one.
Had to buy it to find out if the film was saying what I thought it was. Quite impressed so bought his first book, The Whisperers, which was a complex, gruesome and totally unbelievable mess. Can only conclude someone has been mentoring him, as The Girl in the Fog, while pretty complex, is quite a good read
