The perfect recipe for hygge: make a hot chocolate, draw the curtains, snuggle under a blanket and read your way to happiness!
It’s autumn in Yulethorpe and everyone is gloomy. It’s cold, drizzly and the skies are permagrey. The last shop on the high street – an adorable little toy shop – has just shut its doors. Everything is going wrong for Yulethorpe this autumn. Until Clara Kristensen arrives.
Clara is on holiday but she can see the potential in the pretty town, so she rolls up her sleeves and sets to work. Things are looking up until Joe comes to Yulethorpe to find out exactly what is going on with his mother’s shop. Joe is Very Busy and Important in the City and very sure that Clara is up to no good. Surely no one would work this hard just for the fun of it?
Can a man who answers emails at 3 a. m. learn to appreciate the slower, happier, hygge things in life – naps, candles, good friends and maybe even falling in love?

Loved this book, easy fun reading and good story. Pretty cover.
Settle down in a cosy chair wrapped in a warm throw , with a warming cup of hot chocolate and just read . I loved this book . Having a very hard time at the moment and Rosies writing brought a warmth to my soul and a smile to my face with the bonus of the wonderful world of hygge . It’s time everyone took that moment to stop and look around you and this book just prompts you to do so . Honestly, I didnt want it to end . I usually donate my books to the village library but I’m going to be a bit selfish and hold on to it so I can read it again but I will let everyone know what a wonderful read it is and will suggest it to my WI book club .
This book was a Christmas gift to myself, and did not disappoint! The author created so many wonderful hygge moments…it will become an annual winter read for me. Absolutely loved it!!!
One of my favourite discovery of 2018. Funny, sweet, and warm. I totally enjoyed this story!!!
Ein Buch das man ungerne aus der Hand legt. Besonders an einem kühlen, regnetischem und windigem Tag. Eine, oder auch mehrere, Tasse Tee und das Buch, eine absolut gelungene Kombi.
